International judge for the group IX, English Springer Spaniel, American and English Cocker

I was born in 1960 in Plzen, Czech Republic in a „dog family“. My father was a president of the Czech Club of Poodlebreeders, an international judge and bred together with my mom poodles with affix „Z Pirana“.

My affix „Arcanus Iliria“ was recognized in the year 1984. I breed white medium poodles since the beginning of my cynological activities. First litter was born in my kennel in 1988. I am not a big breeder (still first alphabet since 1988), but I bred a lot of champions in white and black color of medium poodles. Arcanus Iliria poodles you can find in plenty of pedigrees around the whole Europe.

I am president of the Czech Club of Poodle breeders since 1994, international judge since 1986. I had a honour to judge in almost all European countries. I also judged at several highly prestigious shows – WDS Budapest 2013, EDS Brno 2014, WDS Leipzig 2017, WDS Brno 2021.

I like elegant dogs, nice in type with excellent proportions and typical movement.

In his life, Bruno has always had an eye for the animal world, especially for dogs, his life companions from an early age. Over the years he has been lucky to meet his wife Paola, with whom he shares love for animals and which they have passed on to their daughter Viviana. He has been breeding medium and toy poodles since 1982 and since 1990 with the “Osmanthus” prefix.

The passion for this breed has occupied much of his free time, without however neglecting his small business company for the construction of electronic equipment, an activity started in 1977. Retired since the end of 2014, he can dedicate more time to his passions: dogs and photography.

They have bred for quality, not quantity, producing one or two litters a year and now even less, but despite this, they have produced WORLD Winners in: 1992,93,94,95,96,2011,2012. EUROPEAN Winners in:1990,96,98,99,2000,02,03,05,07,08,2012,2022, numerous Italian and international champions, champions from almost all European countries, Scandinavia, Russia, Australia, Canada, Israel, USA and South America. Winners of many BIS in Italy and abroad in France, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, Russia, Hungary, Austria, Serbia, Greece, Belgium and Norway. Among the most prestigious: in 1990 Reserve BIS in Montecarlo and in Austria BIS in Dorbirn and RBIS in Tulln Bundessieger, Best of Junior Group 9 at the World Show in Valencia 1992, Second BOG at the World Show in Brussels 1995, in Germany BIS in Offenburg 2007 and Friedrichsafen 2009, BOB at the Melbourne Royal show in 2014, 2015, Second Best Breeder’s group at the 2011 Paris World Show , Best in Show at the Champion of Champions in Lithuania in 2012, Best In Show at the Jubilee of The Club Cani Compagnia, Toy Breeds Club in 2013. In the country that owns the breed, his Poodles won important awards for the Italian breeding; Best in Show at the National D’Elevage of the Club du Caniche de France in 1988 & 2008, Best in Show at the French Championship in Paris in 1995, European Winner and BOS in 2003, World Winner and BOB in 2011, European Winner and BOB in 2022.

The champions Osmanthus Noel Chance, Osmanthus Essence and Osmanthus Allure Sensuelle, represent their fifth generation of World and European winners. A goal achieved by few and a source of pride for the Italian breeding. In these fundamental 41 years, Bruno had the opportunity to know the most important and historic breeders and expert judges in the dog world, whose precious teachings he cherishes with esteem and affection. All this increased his passion and enriched his cultural background. In the past, he hold positions as Secretary first and subsequently ENCI’s Delegate within the Club Cani Compagnia (toy breeds club), member of the Technical Committee and Board member of the Italian Newfounland Club, Board Member of the Varese Group and of the Busto Arsizio Delegation.

In October 2006 he was appointed Expert Judge for the Poodle breed and subsequently, FCI International Judge. Appointed in France by the Club du Caniche de France, Trainer Judge and for the “Confirmation” for the Poodle breed and by the Club du Pekinois et du Japonais for the Pekingese and Japanese Spaniel breed. Trainer Judge in Italy for the Poodle and Czechoslovakian Wolfdog breeds. He is currently an Expert Judge of FCI groups 2, 4, 5, 9, 10, for many breeds of FCI group 1,3, some of 8 and can judge the Best in Show. In these seventeen years, he has had the honor of being part of the jury of the EUROPEAN shows in Geneva 2013 and Wels 2019, the WORLD shows in Milan 2015 and Brno 2021, the most important international shows and specialties throughout all Europe, Israel, Scandinavia, Ireland, Canada, Russia, Belarus, Japan and Australia. Bruno has held seminars on the Poodle breed in Italy and abroad. Author of the comment on the Poodle breed published by ENCI and of articles on various breeds for “I Nostri Cani” and various specialized magazines.

Viviana was born in a “dog family” and, as a hobby, she has been breeding with her father Bruno and her mother Paola black, brown medium and toy poodles since 1982 and under the “Osmanthus” prefix since 1990. Together they have bred with the aim of quality and not quantity.

They have produced one or two litters per year and now even less, but despite this, Osmanthus are World Champions in the years:1992,93,94,95,96,2011,2012. European Champions in 1990,96,98,99,2000,02,03,05,07,08,2012,2022. They bred numerous Italian Champions, 55 Internationals, Champions of almost all European countries as well as Scandinavia, Russia, Australia, Canada, Israel, USA and South America. BIS Winners in Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, Russia, Hungary, Austria, Serbia, Greece, Belgium and Norway. The BIS winner Osmanthus First Lady was Top winning toy bitch and second top toy in Norway in 2000.

Their champions Osmanthus Noel Chance, Osmanthus Essence and Osmanthus Allure Sensuelle, who unfortunately left them in April 2021 at the age of 15, represent their fifth generation of World and European Champions. A goal achieved by few and a pride for the Italian breeding.

Viviana started to show dogs at the age of 6 and she was the first to represent her country at the International Junior Handler Final at Crufts. She was handling various breeds as a teenager such as Flat Coated Retrievers, Dachshunds, Afghans, Whippets, Salukis, Borzois, Pekingese, Lhasa Apsos and Scottish Terriers.

In the daily life, she is working as a Project coordinator for the world renown Novartis Innovative Medicine Pharmaceutical company in the Value and Access Team. After many years of breeding and showing, Viviana became a Poodle judge in March 2017. She had the pleasure to judge the prestigious Enci Winner and the most important international shows and national specialties in Japan, Australia, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Ireland, Denmark, Serbia, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, France and Holland. She is an FCI judge for group 4 and most of group 9. She has written many articles for the Poodle Variety and Poodle in Scandinavia magazine.
